Connecting RunSmart to QuickBooks Online

This article will help you connect your QuickBooks Onlin account to RunSmart so you can start pulling in your financial data.

Connecting RunSmart to your QuickBooks Online Account

To connect RunSmart to your QuickBooks Online account:

  1. Log in to your Projection Genie account

  2. Create a Project via the Project Page

  3. Click on the green Connect to QuickBooks button

  4. Enter your QuickBooks login credentials to connect your account to Projection Genie

  5. Projection Genie will begin the process of importing, analyzing, and producing your results. This process can take as long as 25 minutes. You can logout and return at a later time without interrupting the process.

  6. Once your results are ready, you'll be taken to your dashboard page to see a highlight of your results.

Note: From time to time, QuickBooks may require you to reauthorize your connection to Projection Genie. If prompted, simply reenter your QuickBooks login credentials.


Pro Plan Users: Invite a Team Lead to Connect QuickBooks

If you’re on a Pro plan, you can also add a Team Lead to your project. A Team Lead has the access privileges needed to connect a QuickBooks account on your behalf.

This is especially useful for bookkeepers or accountants who don’t want to request login credentials from their clients. Instead, you can simply add them as a Team Lead on the project, allowing them to connect directly to QuickBooks and begin the import and analysis process.

To add a Team Lead:

  1. Go to your Project settings

  2. Click on +Team Member

  3. Enter their email address and assign them as the Team Lead

  4. The Team Lead will receive an invite via email to create an account (if they don't already have one) and can then connect to QuickBooks using their account login credentials
