RunSmart pulls financial data from QuickBooks Online to keep your financial analysis, forecasts, insights, and reports based on your latest available financial information.

Your monthly refresh allowance is based on your RunSmart plan and applies separately to each project:

The first QuickBooks data pull of each new month does not count toward your refresh allowance. Your monthly refreshes are available if you need to pull your QuickBooks data again during the same month.

For example, a Pro project receives its first monthly data pull plus up to three additional refreshes during that month.
​

Your refresh allowance resets each month.
​

You only need to refresh your data if changes or corrections have been made in QuickBooks Online to data from a previous month since your most recent data pull.
​

For example, you may want to refresh after correcting transactions, making adjustments, or completing additional bookkeeping work in QuickBooks for a previous month.
​

If nothing has changed in QuickBooks for a previous month since your last data pull, there is no need to use another refresh.
​

No. RunSmart analyzes your financial data through the end of the previous month. Activity from the current month is not included in your analysis until the month has ended.

For example, if you pull your QuickBooks data on September 10, RunSmart will analyze your financial data through August 31. Transactions entered for September will not be included in your analysis yet.

Because of this, you do not need to refresh RunSmart simply because new transactions have been entered in QuickBooks for the current month. Once the month ends and you have finished categorizing all transactions in QuickBooks Online, your first data pull of the new month will include the prior month's data and will not count against your monthly refresh allowance.

RunSmart displays your remaining monthly refresh allowance below to the QuickBooks refresh option on the Projects page. For example:

"2 of 3 refreshes remaining this month"

The counter updates whenever you use a refresh, so you can see how many additional QuickBooks data pulls are available for that project during the month.

No. QuickBooks refresh limits only apply to how many times you can pull updated financial data from QuickBooks Online into RunSmart each month.

They do not limit how often you can edit or customize your forecasts. You can make unlimited changes to your forecasts and scenarios using the financial data already available in RunSmart without using any of your QuickBooks refreshes.

A QuickBooks refresh is only needed when you want to pull updated data from QuickBooks Online into RunSmart.

Once you have used all of the refreshes included with your plan, the QuickBooks refresh option will become unavailable for the remainder of the month.

Your refresh allowance automatically resets at the beginning of the next month.

Because refresh limits apply separately to each project, using all of the refreshes for one project does not affect the refresh allowance for your other projects.
